Over 743,000 Children Living in Poverty in New York, Ranking New York 34th out of the 50 States

In 2018, 11.9 million children nationally, or 16.2% of all children, were living in poverty. While New York experienced a small decline in child poverty rates from 19.7% in 2017 to 18.6% in 2018, it still had over 743,000 children in the state living in poverty.
