FOR CHILDREN

Join Children’s Defense Fund-New York as we stand up for children! On Tuesday, November 1, spend the evening at the Mandarin Oriental as we raise funds to support youth and young people. Funds raised will support vital resources that include:

• Covering the cost of community organizing training for young activists and parents using CDF’s movement-building curriculum. This curriculum strengthens our ability to address statewide poverty, child welfare, youth justice, education justice, and health equity issues that are disproportionately impacting communities of color;
• Expanding the CDF Freedom Schools® program footprint throughout the state. The CDF Freedom Schools program has a proven track record of improving literacy rates, confidence, and interest in social action in young scholars;
• Providing living wages and meeting other basic needs of the young activists and parents CDF-New York trains, who will lead us in creating a truly equitable New York.
